Proposals submitted by AARO and others have been incorporated into the Taxpayer First Act Office report which was just submitted to Congress in January 2021. AARO hopes that these suggestions will eventually lead to better taxpayer services for Americans living overseas.

Read More...The Association of Americans Resident Overseas (AARO), founded in 1973 and headquartered in Paris, is an international, non-partisan association with members in 46 countries. It researches issues that significantly affect the lives of overseas Americans and keeps its members informed on those issues.
AARO urges all Americans overseas who have not already done so to create an account and enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) in order to receive updated travel and other security information, particularly during the COVID-19 crisis. AARO's understanding is that the information contained in the enrollment is NOT shared with the IRS or other USG agencies.
